COACHES
Coach Training and Development
As a club, we recognise how crucial a coach is and provide support and training to assist our coaches in becoming the best mentors they can be. We greatly appreciate the voluntary time and effort our coaches put into training and mentoring our netball players!
The best part of coaching…. watching your players grow and learn through the season and become an amazing team. And sometimes you move up a division; or come runners up; or win a Grand Final!
The role of a coach also comes with responsibilities including abiding by the Club's Code of Conduct and ensuring legal checks and requirements are undertaken to enable the person to work with children.
We will happily provide assistance to any parents wishing to become involved in coaching and team managing, no matter what your sporting background is. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you're interested in becoming a Burpengary Jets Netball Club coach!
We have a dedicated Coaching Convenor at the club. They perform a variety of functions including:

UMPIRES
UMPIRES
Burpengary Jets Netball Club are very fortunate to have a large number of experienced and qualified umpires. In conjunction with our Umpiring Convenor through Caboolture Netball Association, umpiring courses are held from the start of the season with dedicated support from our own umpire mentors as well the ‘red shirt’ mentors on club days.
As a club we have worked hard to ensure that our Team White umpires are strong in numbers and provide quality umpiring at all games.
Why Umpire?
Being an Umpire is an important role within the Netball community.
No Umpires = No games!
Umpires help keep the game safe, fair and fun for everyone. Umpiring not only improves your own knowledge of the game, it also develops personal skills like communication, resilience and leadership.
Want to become an Umpire?
Contact our Umpiring Convenor to get your name added to the wait list. Trainee positions are limited each season for new umpires and you need to be at least 11 years old and competing in Intermediates to apply.
What’s Involved?
There are two Caboolture Netball Association run courses; Whistleblowers and JOSUP. Both of these take approximately 5-6 weeks each to complete.
You must first pass the Whistleblowers course to advance through to JOSUP. These courses are run early Saturday mornings before games commence. Whilst you are attending these courses you will also be umpiring Set games with a Burpengary Jets Umpire Mentor guiding and teaching you.
Once you get through JOSUP and pass, you are then an Association Badged Umpire and will be able to umpire Intermediate games by yourself. You will also need to complete the Rules of Netball Theory Examination once you are a badged umpire. Further details will be provided as you advance.
